Hedgehog（Hh） 信號通路調節(jié)胚胎發(fā)育和成體許多組織器官干細胞的自我更新與增殖。然而，那些在正常發(fā)育過程中受到Hh信號通路調節(jié)的組織器官，在該信號通路異常時常常發(fā) 生腫瘤。這些腫瘤包括肝癌、神經膠質瘤、基底細胞癌、橫紋肌肉瘤、胰腺癌、小細胞肺癌、胃癌、結腸癌、前列腺癌、黑色素瘤和多發(fā)性骨髓瘤等。

Sonic hedgehog (SHh):
Plays an important role in embryonic development and in diseases such as cancer. Antibodies against SHh are useful reagents to investigate the expression and function of SHh.

The hedgehog pathway has drawn great attention recently as a novel therapeutic target for treating certain types of cancer. StemRD has generated a mouse monoclonal antibody against human and mouse SHh. This antibody has nM binding affinity to SHh protein, and importantly, is functionally blocking against human and mouse SHh. Data shown below is from an activity assay for inhibition of human SHh.

A monoclonal antibody against SHh blocks the activity of human SHh. Activity is assessed by a Gli reporter gene assay in Swiss 3T3 cells against 20 ng/mL human SHh (from StemRD).

Purity:
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis

Biological Activity:
The activity of this antibody in blocking SHh was determined by using a Gli reporter gene assay in 3T3 cells. The IC50 for inhibiting SHh-induced activation ranges 1 to 5 nM.
